Check it out if:
- You think there's nothing to do in South Florida
- You're tired of movies and malls and clubs and bars every weekend
- You give a shit about culture

01:25 pm - Orlando Knit Wits
I was wondering if anyone would be attending the November 6th get together. I know many of the Orlando members live in the UCF area which is kind of far, but I used to live out that way and it was only a 40 minute drive to get over to Sandlake.

In case you're interested...

10:39 pm - I have an issue
I live in brevard county and  the only places that I know that has yarn are the basic craft stores: Joann's, micheal's, etc. Red Heart is all well and good but I'm getting beyond that basic stuff and am killin' to make some fingerless gloves. I can't find any suppliers!!!! Does anyone know of one kinda close to my area that has more variety???

Hello everyone. I'm a Florida knitter. I live in east Orlando. I've been knitting now for almost a year. I've caught on pretty quickly to the craft and am completely addicted. I currently have three projects on needles. A scarf, a tank top from Vogue, and I'm also working on "lolita legs" from knitty. I'm also a member of the punk knitters community.

I'm beginning to dabble a bit with trying to design my own patterns, so I'll look forward to hearing any suggestions and comments from everyone and hopefully be inspired by some of you:)

Happy knitting:)

12:55 pm - Fort Myers
Hey everybody, my name is Erin and I live in Fort Myers, FL.
Right now I am working on my first major time consumming project, the Laura Hooded Pullover From White Lies Designs.
Also, if there is anyone else in the area, we have a club taht meets THursdays, at 7 pm at Blackhawk coffee shop in the Bell Tower shopping center. It's a lot of fun and we just gab and knit and drink coffee. If anyone is interested, we have a community.. naturalbornknit
Sorry if you read my promo for it already in the knitting community, but someone over there directed me over here :-)
glad to find more florida knitters!

09:30 pm - help!
Hey my name is Ashley and I'm a student at Stetson University in DeLand. I've just learned how to knit right at the end of the school year, and needless to say, I'm no expert. I do well when I just knit, but purling and knitting/purling is not so great. Anyway, since knitting's about the only thing I do well, I was wondering if anyone had some really clear instructions on how to cast off. I've found a few sites that explained it but I just can't do it. Oiy. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

08:51 pm - Hey...
Does anyone have any really rocking hat patterns? I have like two that I use all the time, and I love them but they are old now...I cut my friends hair (accidentally) and now I'm making him a hat to cover the hole...any response would be appreciated, thanks.

It's pretty warm lately, and my knitting was becoming rather sporadic since I had no need for scarves, hats, sweaters or felted slippers. But I found... Knitted Toys!

Jean Greenhowe's books have tons of cute little dolls and whatnot. I ordered Toy Collection and Knitted Animals and am planning on making cute little knitted toys for friends, just because. As soon as I get them, I'll get started and post my progress. :-D
