Hi there fellow Floridians!

I'm Zette and I live in Key Largo. I was hoping to pick your brains a bit and get some ideas. We are moving into a new apartment in a few weeks that we'll be in long term, and I want to make some nice decorations for there. I'm working on a tessellated fish rug for the kitchen right now (I'm 1/2 through) and will make some trivets or hot pads to match it, but I was wondering if anyone out there had patterns for things like palm trees, turtles, large fish- things like that. I'm looking for large items or things that can be adapted to a large size for throw rugs and the like.

Here's a picture of the progess on my fish, if anyone is interested. I now have 10 done (not pictured) and I"m doing 1/2 in light blue and 1/2 in dark blue.

Sunday October 15th, 2-4pm.
And everyother Sunday after that.
Stick A Needle meets at the Barnie's in Avalon Park.
Hopefully the change will work better for people on here, too.

I'm Kate.

Anyhow.
I live in the UCF/Waterford area and was going to start a knit group but I need to make sure it's not just me and the friends I force to come.
I want people who are actually interested in being in a knit group.
Anybody interested?

08:41 pm - just joined
Hi my name is Rachel and I just joined. I live in SoFla, but I go to school in orlando. I basically just started to knit. When I was younger this old lady tried to teach me but she scared me so that stopped. I loved the idea of being able to do this craft so I learned how from a book. I`ve only been doing it for a month so I`m still learning as I go but I`m having so much fun! Right now I`m knitting a blanket for my niece that was just born, but I want to continue on to other things.
The next thing I want to try is dolls or something. I can`t find any neat patterns anywhere so if you have any suggestions, let me know!
-Rachel
P.S. If any one knows of giraffe doll patterns, let me know! I love giraffes!

Hey, I just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm 22 and live in Orlando. I am relatively new to knitting, and I'm looking to make some new knitting buddies.

I've got 2 WIP's: a Harry Potter scarf and a tank top (Ballerina).

Has anyone made Ballerina? Are there any errata that I should know about, or any tips?

Thanks, I look forward to talking with you guys!

Hi, new. =)
what is the protocol for using flickr to upload pictures? There's no LJ cut when you upload pix but they are tiny and don't blow up the screen.

07:23 pm - Hello all
I know I just posted, but felt it prudent to introduce myself! I am Ashley. I currently am a nursing student, grow orchids, knit, and swing dance every friday. Pleased to meet you.

I have started a scarf project with a red heart sympony worsted medium yarn in moss green. My question is...how does one keep the scarf from rolling? I am knitting a row and purling a row. I cannot seem to keep it fro rolling up, and I am on the verge of pulling it all out and starting over. Any advice would be much appreciated!

peace,
Ash

Hi everyone! I am a beginning knitter pleasantly situated between Pansacola and Ft Walton Beach. Anyone in the area meet up for a knit session? I would love to attend and learn more!
